Then, you can use the router once again by locking the collar, tightening the locking nut and plugging the router into the electric outlet.

Using a Router Guide

To keep the distance between the woodwork’s edge and the router bits, you may use a router guide. The router guide mechanically moves from the router base and away from the base of the router. You can use the locking screws to help the router guide in place.

Storing the Router Bits

Here are some tips on how to properly care for your router bits:

1. Put the router bits on a bit storage tray with a cover. Make sure that no moisture would be able to enter the storage tray to prevent rusting.

2. Store the router bits separately within one container. Never put router bits close to one another so that even if one of them rusts, the others would still look good as new.

3. Frequently sharpen the router bits using the honing method. Remember to use flat stones to “grind” and sharpen straight bits; the cone-shaped stones are used for fluted router bits.
